It's finally happen. I am taking pre-orders for the caps, there is a limited supply since this is the first time doing this but if its a success then you can be sure that there will be more to come and different designs. CLICK BELOW to pre-order now and look at what products will be coming soon.
It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these.
So if you don’t know Kirk's World Films is going to be producing its own clothing line. This is a venture I’ve wanted to do since I was at university but didn't have the time or knowledge to produce what I have today. I’ll be starting with a short run of baseball caps.
The collection is called “Bubbles”. The caps have gone through a few minor detail changes such as adding colour to the bottom of the brim and the colour threading to match just to give it more of a pop rather than a plain black cap.
Pre-orders will be available soon. Join the MAILING LIST to be the first to know what’s going on in Kirk's World.
This is my latest showreel showcasing my work
I thought I had posted this blog but apparently I hadn't. Sorry
So this is a test project myself and Lee Daley had filmed with the Beeworks gimbal. The skater is Fattima very talented and easy going young lady introduced to me by my friend James aka Blader.
The objective was to see how the Beeworks gimbal handled fast pace movement. For the most part it did well. The ultimate thing was getting the camera, Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, balanced on the gimbal. Once we had it on correctly we were able to get some pretty steady shots.
We had also met and asked some other skaters to join in. We had one of them operating the Beeworks gimbal while he followed Fattima and his friends. I'm pretty happy with the footage.
Video coming out very soon.
Short Film - TIME by Kirk Miller-Lewis
Finally I have my short film out TIME. A dedication and inspired short film for my step grandfather who passed away. I wasn't really bothered about the look I wanted to get a message across. The worst thing in life is not using your time productively. We are so wrapped up in our lives that we forget the simple things, family and friends. I hope this film makes the audience reach out and say hello to someone they haven't spoken to for ages.
You may remember some time back that I had filmed a short film about a Grandfather and his Grandson reconnecting, well finally I am close to finishing it.
This short film is more a dedication than a short film to showcase my skills. I just wanted to put a message out there for the world to thinking about. There is never enough time so use it and spend it wisely.
When I release this film I will talk more about it and the subject matter.
So my latest endeavour is working along side Beeworks Gear (www.BeeWorksGear. com). Beeworks are a company based in Seattle, USA who have developed an amazing gimbal. They have sent it over to me to create some cool visuals.
The day it arrived I met with Lee MJ Daley, my DOP, my cousin and a friend. We filmed some skaters in a shopping centre to test it out on the field and see what its limitations were. For the most part it is a very good gimbal with a video tweaks here and there which the guys at Beeworks a very open to hear. Personally what stands out for me is how neat it looks
Below are some pictures of the night. Special thanks to Lee, Gbola and Philip.
So Summer is here and I got my children so I figured why not make a very short film starring my amazing children Kai and Anaiah, my children love to be filmed. I tend to film them when I'm testing out new equipment or lenses. I also thought it would be good to see what its like directing children and getting an understanding of the problems I could have. First of the bat, concentration. I figured one way to tackle this was not to have them in too many shoot together. This way they wouldn't distract each other too much. I also have there favourite TV channel on so during set up time they could be relaxed and kept in a good mood or I let them play on my PS3. For the most part this worked I wanted to shoot it all in one day but I had sound problems and didn't think it was fair to have my children doing what I want for the whole day.
I always say if you've not learnt something from each project you work on then you better at least get paid. This project has allowed me to experiment with different editing and shooting styles which I haven't used properly before. Its made me think even more about my shots. I didn't want to do simple shots. I tried to make each shot look interesting or very pretty, having beautiful children helps too.
I have a few important projects to do but as soon as I finish I'll be sure to show you guys the final film.
